JEFFERSON - In the 47th running of the Jefferson Relays on Saturday, the Lady Dragons defended their home turf by claiming first in the small-school standings with 124 points.

Jefferson claimed first-place finishes in both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter relays.
Athens Academy finished fourth overall in the girls standings in front of North Oconee (fifth with 63 points) and East Jackson (eighth with 36 points).
The Lady Spartans' Torie Owers set meet records in both the shot put (44 feet, 11 inches) and discus (145-3), claiming first in both events.
North Oconee won the distance medley and also received a first-place finish from Sydney Rodkey in the pole vault with a meet record of 10-7.
The Athens Academy boys finished third in the small-school standings behind Elbert County and Lovett.
The Spartans received first-place points from their 3,200 and sprint medley teams and Bobby Marshburn's 45 feet, 3/4 inches mark in the shot put.
