MONROE - With two first-place and three second-place finishes, Cedar Shoals' boys track team won the nine-team Bonnie Mattox/Monroe Relays Saturday at Monroe Area High School.

DeDe Lattimore - who was the meet's high-point winner - finished first in the shot put and Franklin Johnson was first in the long jump to lead the Jaguars.
Second-place finishes were recorded by James Gordon (triple jump), Spencer Dykes (high jump) and the 3,200 relay team of Dykes, Max Allen, Keagan Long and Jason Ye.
Baseball
► JEFFERSON 3, COMMERCE 0: At Jefferson, the Dragons scored three unearned runs and limited the Tigers to but one hit as they improved to 12-2. Chris Swancey earned the win for Jefferson, pitching 31/3 innings, striking out one and allowing one hit, no runs and five walks. Talmadge Green took the loss for Commerce (10-6), giving up two hits and one unearned run in three innings.
The Dragons got hits from Lucas Redd (two), Jamie Sexton, Jake Fields, Chris Beck and Tyler Bailey. The Tigers' lone hit came from Chase Barnett.
Jefferson returns to Region 8-AA play at 5:55 p.m. Monday, hosting Oglethorpe County. Commerce returns to Region 8-A play on Tuesday, hosting Social Circle at 5:30 p.m.
► ATHENS ACADEMY 5, PRINCE AVENUE CHRISTIAN 4: At Athens Academy, the Spartans came back from a seventh-inning 4-1 deficit with five walks, two singles and a sacrifice fly to post a Region 8-A victory.
McKay Matthews drove in the game-winning RBI and he was paced by James Colquitt (one hit, two RBIs), Mark Sanders (one hit) and Will Daniel (one hit, one RBI, one run). Henry Terrell earned the win for Athens Academy (10-5, 4-4), pitching 3 1/3 innings, allowing no runs, two hits and striking out one.
The Spartans will play at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday at Tallulah Falls. Prince Avenue Christian will host Hebron Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
